Elyvanie and Ada
Elyvanie and Ada
Elyvanie is a song writer, singer, author and a mother of three children. While attending Christian elementary school in Rwanda, Elyvanie learned to sing. At the age of 15, she organized a successful all girls choir at her home church in Gisenyi called Ababibyi, which means "seed planter". Elyvanie continued her education at Rwankeri high school where she also started a boys and girls choir. Elyvanie immigrated from Rwanda to the USA in April 1989 to pursue higher education at Loma Linda University. During the April 1994 Rwandan Genocide, Elyvanie lost most of her family. It was during this difficult time that Elyvanie began writing songs while praying to God for strength.
Elyvanie's declaration is that she is able to endure pain, suffering and hardship through singing praises to God. It is through her faithful search and discovery of what God is calling her to do that she founded Mother and Children of Faith Ministry to reach out and help widows and orphans as mentioned in James 1:27. Elyvanie’s prayer is that she is able to sing her songs to encourage others who are going through the tough times of this world. Elyvanie sings with her daughter Ada, and together they have an album called “The Power of Forgiveness” which is a unique blend of African harmony. Both Elyvanie and Ada reside in Loma Linda, California.
A portion of the sales from the “The Power of Forgiveness” CD will be used to help orphans and widows in Rwanda and in the USA.
