Operation Windmill International, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving conditions for children throughout the world. Operation Windmill International is partnering with The Mission of Hope and Windward Energy to replace antiquated diesel powered generators with more efficient and environmentally-friendly energy sources (wind and solar technologies) in Haiti.
The Mission of Hope is a registered non-profit United States and Haiti-based missionary organization providing Christian outreach facilities to the Haitian people including a school, orphanage, and medical clinic. The school implements an accredited educational curriculum for 1,200 students, grades pre-K through 12. The orphanage is home to 47 needy children who are provided daily meals, nurtured, clothed and sheltered.
More efficient and environmentally-friendly energy sources are needed to generate electricity for lighting, refrigeration, and air conditioning. With proper electricity, children can read and study, air conditioning can be used in the medical clinic where surgeries are performed and medicines are stored, and food can be preserved longer.
